THE BSHL

THE LEAGUE:

Born in early 2004, the Burlington Street Hockey League stemmed from a lifetime of pick-up in the streets of Burlington, Ontario and a love for the game of hockey in all its shapes and forms. What started as an idea between creator Dan Walker and his close friends, soon became an underground phenomenon. The 2004 season hosted the league's fruition with 8 teams and 32 players. By the second season there were 40 players, and by the third, more than 70. The 2008 season currently holds the league's biggest registration to date: 16 teams and 112 players. Each year, the populartiy and support of the league has grown exponentially and with rapid excitement and enthusiasm. Equipped only with a set of rollerblades, a stick, and the pavement beneath their feet, the BSHL is not only an unstoppable force of young hockey talent in Burlington, it is an organization wholeheartedly dedicated to one of Canada's oldest and most respected pasttimes.
